New services are coming from 22 July

We're delighted to announce that we will start operating our first ever bus routes, under contract to Nexus, from 22 July 2024.

The new routes are as follows:

  • 599 – between Sunderland and Hebburn, via Royal Hospital, Pallion, Castletown, IAMP, Nissan and Jarrow.
  • 643 – between Sunniside and Metrocentre ASDA, via Whickham, currently operated by Go North East.
  • 939 – between Sunderland and Team Valley, via Concord and Washington Galleries, currently operated by Go North East.

Our team of friendly drivers are looking forward to welcoming you on board.

Service 599 is a brand new route, funded through the North East Combined Authority’s Bus Service Improvement Plan, which will operate every hour during Monday to Saturday daytimes. It will provide new direct links from areas of South Tyneside to Nissan and IAMP, as well as improving local bus journeys to the Royal Hospital, Pallion Shops, Hylton Retail Park and Castletown locally in Sunderland.

Customers can use and purchase all multi-operator tickets, including Network One tickets, the Tyne & Wear Day Rover ticket, and the Transport North East Day Saver ticket. The Transport North East 21 & Under £1 single and £3 day tickets can also be used and purchased on our buses.
